Cricketer Vinod Kambli's sister-in-law killed in accident
Mumbai, Apr 30 (UNI) The sister-in-law of cricketer Vinod Kambli died on the spot, while her husband was injured, when their motorbike was knocked down by a truck in the eastern suburb of Kanjurmarg today.
Police said at around 1030 hours, 25-year-old Vishakha and her husband Vidhyadhar, the younger brother of Vinod, were on their way to work on a bike from their residence in Gilbert Housing Complex near Indranagar, Kanjurmarg.
When they reached Kanjur village, a truck dashed the bike from behind, throwing Vishakha onto the road and she was crushed under rear tyre of the truck. Vidhyadhar, who received minor injuries, is admitted to the civil hospital, they added.
Vinod Kambli visited the Rajawadi Hospital, where Vishakha's body was kept for post-mortem.
The truck driver is absconding and police have registered a case of accident and further investigations are on.
