Kashmir gears up for the capital shift
Srinagar, Apr 29, 2008 : Srinagar, the summer capital of Indian Kashmir is all geared up for the annual shifting of government departments from the winter capital Jammu. According to a government spokesman, the offices closed in Jammu on April 25 and will open in Srinagar on May 5.
The bi-annual practice of shifting the seat of government for six months to Jammu and for the remaining six months to Srinagar is known as "Darbar Move."
