People want 'peace zone' in Dimapur

Kohima, Apr 29: People of Nagaland have appealed to the ''underground outfits'' to stop fratricide at Dimapur and declare it as a 'peace zone'.

A coordination meeting, attended by the Tribal Hohos, Naga Women Hoho of Dimapur, Dimapur Gaon Burahs Union and Dimapur Naga Students' Union along with others at Dimapur yesterday, protested against the shootouts in civilian areas.

It also urged the government to take serious note of the situation and deploy adequate security forces in and around Dimapur.

Several areas of Diphupar 'B' and Sovima villages under Dimapur town remained tense following the presence NSCN-IM and NSCN (Unified) cadres.
