Nat Council asks Kodavas to boycott polls

Madikeri, Karnataka, Apr 29 : Kodava National Council President N U Nachappa has called upon Kodavas to boycott the next month's Assembly elections in Karnataka.

Addressing an awareness meeting at Srimangala in South Kodagu yesterday, he said Kodavas should boycott the polls as not a single elected representative from Kodagu had fought for their cause.

The boycott of elections by the National Council in 2004 had resulted in seven per cent less voting, he claimed.
