Minor raped in 17 case of the month in Delhi

New Delhi, Apr 29 (UNI) In the 17th rape of the month in the capital, which includes three gangrapes, a minor was allegedly raped in Swaroopnagar in outer Delhi.

However, the accused -- Udyan (24) -- was arrested today after the girl's family and supporters raised a storm at the police station, according to sources.

''Nearly two dozen people protested at the police station today to get the case registered.'' Police said the Friday incident took place after the accused, who was visiting his sister's home in Swaroop Nagar, went to the girl's home next door and raped her finding her alone.

The incident came to light today after the minor girl, a Class IX student of a government school, developed complications and told her parents about the incident.

After the police was informed her medical examination confirmed the rape following which Ghaziabad resident Udhyan was arrested.
