Mayawati govt crushing dalit organisations of other parties: Cong

Lucknow, Apr 29(UNI) Uttar Pradesh Congress, SC/ST department today criticised the Mayawati government for its ''dictatorial attitude'' for trying to crush dalit organisations of other political parties.

The newly appointed UP Congress SC/ST cell chairman Prabhu Dayal Kateriya took strong exception over the government's rejection of the Ravindralaya hall for holding a meeting tomorrow.

Talking to mediapersons, Mr Kateriya, three time MP from Firozabad, said '' We had sought the hall for only a formal first meeting of the SC/ST after I took over early this month.'' '' When I contacted the officials, they said that a direction from the higherups in the government had asked us not to give the hall to your organsiation'', he claimed.

Mr Kateriya alleged that Ms Mayawati was working like she is God for the dalits but doing nothing.''Dalits are not the bonded labourer of the BSP and it was undemocratic attitude of the chief minister of obstructing political parties in holding their functions'', he added.

Meanwhile, the SC/ST cell has shifted its meeting to the Congress state headquarters tomorrow.

Mr Kateriya, said his main effort would be to work as a bridge between the dalits and Congress.
