HC stays procceedings against film actor

Kochi, Apr 29 (UNI) Kerala High Court Justice R Basant today stayed the proceedings against film actor Jackie Shroff pending before the first class Judicial Magistrate Court, Kodungallor.

One Bijoy Chokhani, had filed a complaint against the actor through his power of attorney in Kodungallor.

The allegation against Shroff was that the cheque isssued by him was dishonoured.

The actor's contention was that no transaction had taken place with the petitioner at Kodungallor, as he was not resident of the place.
