Governor for people participation in Red Cross activities

Shimla, Apr 29 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh Governor V S Kokje today called for involvement of people especially the youth in Red Cross activities in the state with a view to acquainting them with their social responsibilty.

Presiding over the meeting of Himachal Red Cross Society, the Governor said that to begin with such activities should be started in all universities, colleges and schools in the state.

Mr Kokje said that youth could play pivotal role in elaboration of the Red Cross activities so that every deserving person was benefitted with the campaign launched by the society from time to time.

"There is a need to also associate army organisations like Army Wives Association (AWA) with the activities of Red Cross Society so that its services could be made more beneficial and relevant to the suffering humanity in an effective manner'', he added.
