Distribution of T-shirts, Caps with symbol banned
Mysore, Apr 29 (UNI) On the direction of the Election Commission of India, Deputy Commissioner Manivannan, who is also Mysore District Electoral Officer, has banned the distribution of T-shirts and caps with party symbol during the elections in the District.
Orders to this effect were issued to all the officials concerned to strictly implement the direction of EC, Deputy Director of Information Prakash told newsmen here today.
He said the District Election Office has also adopted a new device to check the decibel levels of loud speakers, more particularly in the residential areas for any violation of prescribed norms, event it would attract penal under section 32 of the Representation of People Act 1950. The matter would be reported to the Election Commission of India.
Mr Prakash said with the addition of 19,700 voters in the District, the total number of voters increased to 20,74,061 from all the 11 constituencies.
