Cruise following in Holmes' marathon footsteps

London, Apr 29 : Katie Holmes' New York Marathon sure had a deep impact on star hubby Tom Cruise, for the Hollywood hunk is trying everything to brace himself up and to record a better time than his wife.

Katie, who ran New York in November just a year after giving birth to their daughter, Suri had finished the race in a sedate five hours, 29 minutes.

"When he saw her running that race, something kicked inside him and he decided he'd have to do it - possibly in Boston," the Mirror quoted a pal of the 'Vanilla Sky' star, as saying.

The pal added that Cruise has vowed to "crush" Katie's time.
