Cairn India posted a net loss of Rs 8.73 cr

New Delhi, Apr 29 (UNI) Cairn India Ltd, a unit of UK's Cairn Energy, today said the company has posted a net loss of Rs 8.73 crore for the quarter ended March 2008, as against Rs 8.54 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.

The total income decreased to Rs 7.08 crore for the quarter ended March 2008 from Rs 12.60 crore in the same period a year ago, a company statement said.

However, the consolidated results of the group posted a net profit after minority interest of Rs 116.43 crore for the quarter ended March 2008, as compared to Rs 37.56 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.

The total income increased to Rs 337.59 crore for the quarter ended March 2008, from Rs 272.55 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.
