Bihar govt to appoint town managers in civic bodies
Patna, Apr 29 (UNI) For better town planning and toning up the civic bodies functionings, Bihar government today decided to appoint town managers on a contract basis.
The cabinet today gave the green signal for appointment of town managers on monthly payment of Rs 20,000 under the urban development and housing department.
Initially, the town managers would be appointed on an anual contract for 124 civic bodies.
The government might appoint permanent town managers on the basis of their performance.
The cabinet in principle agreed to implement centrally sponsored common man insurance scheme (Aam Aadmi Bima Yojana) in Bihar. The rural landless families would be benefitted once the scheme was executed.
The cabinet also authorised the Block Education Extension Officers for payment of salary to the teachers and non-teaching staff of government primary and middle schools.
