Ahmedinejad meet President Patil, Manmohan Singh

New Delhi, Apr 29 : Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, who arrived here today en route to Sri Lanka, met President Pratibha Patil and Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh.

It is assumed that Ahmadinejad and Dr Singh may have reviewed bilateral ties, and have discussed the ambitious Iran-Pakistan-India (IPI) gas pipeline, which has failed to take-off because of differences over cost factors.

They may have also discussed the latest situation with regard to the standoff between Iran and the West over Tehran's controversial nuclear programme. New Delhi has maintained that Tehran's nuclear issue cannot be resolved through coercion or force, but through a dialogue.

New Delhi has also said that any wrong done to Iran would have direct bearing on India.

Later in the day, the Iranian President will hold a press conference
