Adivasis, Dalits to march to Secretariat over Farm land issue

Kannur, Apr 29 (UNI) The Adivasi and Dalit organisations in Kerala will organise a march on May 30 to the state secretariat against the LDF government's move to hand over the Aralam Farm, allotted by the Centre for their rehabilitation, to real estate lobbies.

The LDF government was trying to sell half of the Farm to some real estate lobbies, Adhivasi Gothra Sabha President C K Janu alleged at a press conference. ''We would march to the state Secretariat demanding the stopping of the sale of the Farm, she said.

About 3,500 acres of land had been availed by 2,550 families and the government was trying to sell the remaining 3,500 acres of land to real estate lobbies, she alleged.

The other demands of the rally included agricultural land to landless Chengara agitators and land to landless Dalilts in the state.
