Woman District Panchayat member attempts suicide

Chhatarpur, MP, Apr 28 (UNI) A woman district panchayat member jumped into a well along with her two children early today, but was saved by her husband and others, while both children died.

The incident took place at Katara village in Orchha road police station area of this district, the police said.

Police said Suman Kushwaha(35) attempted suicide by jumping into the well. On hearing an alarm, her husband Lakhan Kushwaha and other villagers saved the woman, who was later admitted to the district hospital.

Jitendra(6) and Sushil(3) died, the police added.
