Welspun-Gujarat net up 146.26% at Rs 102.2 cr

New Delhi, Apr 28 (UNI) Welspun-Gujarat Stahl Rohren Ltd today said its net profit for the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2008 recorded a whopping increase of 146.26 per cent to Rs 102.2 crore as compared to Rs 41.5 crore for the corresponding period last year.

The company said in a statement that its total income for the quarter has increased 66.3 per cent to Rs 1238.3 crore as against Rs 744.7 crore for the same period a year ago.

Its profit after tax for the year ended March 31, 2008 witnessed a hike of 146.42 per cent to Rs 351.4 crore from Rs 142.6 crore last fiscal.

Total Income for FY08 stood at Rs 4029 crore from Rs 2695.5 crore during FY07, an increase of 49.47 per cent.
