Two arrested for act of indecency in Metro premises
New Delhi, Apr 28 (UNI) Two persons were arrested at Jhandewalan Metro station last night for allegedly committing nuisance and an act of indecency inside the Metro premises, sources at the Delhi Metro rail Corporation said.
Baljit Singh Sabharwal (38) and Harjit Singh (33), residents of Karol Bagh and Ravi Nagar respectively, were arrested at the Metro station at 2110 hours as they were urinating inside the station, DMRC spokesperson Anuj Dyal said.
Sabharwal and Singh, who were allegedly in an inebriated state, were urinating behind the lift door at the ground level (unpaid area) when they were noticed and asked to desist.
However, they responded by attempting to manhandle the Metro staff who reported the matter to the CISF jawans who apprehended the two persons and handed them over to the Delhi Police, Mr Dyal said.
The two have been booked under Section 59 (1) (a) of the Delhi Metro Railway (Operation&Maintenance) Act, 2002, for being in a state of intoxication and creating nuisance in the Metro premises, he said.
