Teen gang murders school girls in Andaman
Port Blair, Apr 28 (UNI) Tension prevailed in Middle and North Andaman region following murder of two minor girls after being allegedly raped by teenage boys as Andaman Police today busted the case.
All shops and business establishments remained closed.
There were also some minor incidents of violence regarding the murders.
Papri Biswas and Sunitha Laldar, both aged 14-years, residents of Diglipur in North Andaman, became victim of a gang of boys studying in ninth and tenth standard.
Deputy Superintendent of Police of North Andaman Daya Shankar Singh told UNI, ''We have arrested four boys in connection with the murders and lodged a case against them.'' The matter became public following the kidnapping of Papri Biswas on April 24 when police arrested a few boys and interrogated them.
During police interrogation one boy reportedly broke down and admitted to the crime. Later he took the police to a creek area where he along with three others had thrown the body of Papri Biswas after chopping it into pieces.
The police recovered the two bodies packed in two separate bags from the area.
Further interrogation revealed that the other body was of Sunitha Lalder, who was killed by the same gang in similar manner nearly a month back. Sunitha had been missing since March, Mr Singh added.
Police said Papri Biswas was murdered on April 24.
Villagers, shocked at the incidents, demanded severe punishment for the murderers.
