Rs 6 crore outstanding against late Chandrashekhar: Antony
New Delhi, Apr 28 (UNI) A sum of nearly Rs six crore stood outstanding against late Chandrashekhar while H D Deve Gowda owed about Rs 55 lakh for use of defence aircraft for unofficial journeys undertaken during their tenure as Prime Ministers, the Government said today.
In a written reply to Lok Sabha member Yogi Aditya Nath, Defence Minister A K Antony said the outstanding amount due against late Prime Minister Chandrashekhar for the journeys conducted during January 1991 to June 1991 stood at Rs 5, 91, 31, 476.
Similarly, Rs 54,61,497 stood outstanding against Mr Deve Gowda from September 1996 to March 1997, he added.
The Defence Minister said Rs 4,60,336 was due against Mr V C Shukla for the journey undertaken on April 15, 1994.
Necessary steps have been undertaken by the Government to recover the dues by way of sending notices or initiating appropriate recovery process, he added.
