PULF militants to be brought to Manipur from Mysore

Imphal, Apr 28: Six cadres of the People's United Liberation Front (PULF), who were nabbed yesterday at Mysore, will be brought to Manipur for further investigation, official sources said today.

They said a team of Manipur police, led by Imphal East Superintendent of Police Th Radheshyam, had gone to Mysore to nab the militants, who were hiding in a hotel. The Manipur police team contacted Mysore Police Commissioner and with the assistance of the Mysore police, the six militants were nabbed, the sources said. Meanwhile, the Joint Action Committee (JAC) of Heirok said it would not allow any underground cadres to enter Heirok at Thoubal district, following the killing of three people, including two girls, during Holi festival, earlier.

The people of Heirok also urged the state government to provide them with guns to defend themselves.
