JD(S) not to field candidate against SP leader Bangarappa
Mysore, Apr 28 (UNI) Former prime minister and Janata Dal (Secular) president H D Deve Gowda today said his party will not field any candidate against former Karnataka Chief Minister S Bangarappa at Shikaripura assembly constituency in the coming elections.
''The party will not put up any candidate against Bangarappa as he has shown sympathy towards me when I lost the 1980 elections despite his party candidate defeating me,'' Mr Gowda told newspersons here.
He said his party would appeal to the voters of Shikaripura to reject both Congress and the BJP and vote for Samajwadi Party SP) state president S Bangarappa.
Mr Gowda said he and his son former Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy would begin their election campaign from May one.
