JD(S) confident of win in Madikeri

Madikeri, Apr 28: The Janata Dal(S) candidate from this constituency is confident of winning seat, to help H D Devegowda-led party make inroads into the hilly district of Kodagu.

Speaking to UNI, JD(S) candidate K Vasanth, said people of the constituency were favouring JD(S) because of good work done by party leader H D Kumaraswamy when he was the Chief Minister for 20 months.

He said all sections of the party were supporting him and he was not banking only on Veerashiva community to which he belongs.

Asked for the reason to deny ticket to strong contender V P Shashidar by the party, he said that Shashidar had failed to strengthen the party and had failed to fetch seats even in Gram Panchayat level. Also, he had lost deposit in the last election, he said.
