Gold Feb 09 contract gains by 1.04 pc at Rs 11,797 per ten gm

Mumbai, Apr 28 (UNI) Gold February 09 contract rose by 1.04 per cent (pc) at Rs 11,797 per 10 grams at the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) here today, while Silver September 08 contract was up by 0.64 pc at Rs 22,849 per kg.

In metals, mixed trends were observed in metal contracts like bar nickel June 08 and tin April 08, which fell by 0.34 per cent and 2.59 per cent respectively. Lead April 08 contract gained by 0.68 per cent at Rs 110.50 per kg and copper August 08 contact by 0.44 per cent at Rs 344.90 per kg, a release issued by MCX said.

In energy segments, all CFI contracts and two crude oil contracts remained unchanged. Crude oil July 08 contract gained by 0.45 per cent at Rs 4,657 per barrel and natural gas June 08 contract gained by 0.60 per cent and Rs 452.50 per mmBTU.

In agriculture segment, two contracts in cardamom, turmeric, one contract each sugarsklp and potato declined. All contracts in menthe oil and jute receded. Potato TRWR contract recorded impressive gains with May 08 contract up by 2.35 per cent at Rs 352.90 per quintal. Kapas April 08 contract gained 1.49 per cent at Rs 504.70 per 20 kgs and kapaskhali June 08 contract by 1.33 per cent at Rs 395.70 per 50 kgs.

Tin May 08 contract was up by 3.93 pc at Rs 952 per kg and sugarsklp July 08 contract was down by 2.99 pc at Rs 1,494 per quintal, the release added.
