Dam affected families refuse to leave village
Aizawl, Apr 27 (UNI) Several families in Builum village, affected due to Serlui B Hydel project, have refused to vacate their houses till the Mizoram government pays them full compensation.
''If our demands are not fulfilled we will not leave our village.
Let dam submerge us,'' Rohlira, leader of Joint Action Committee against the project, said here today.
Even though many villagers have been shifted to Bawktlang village under Kolasib district, about 30 families were still staying in Builum as they were unsatisfied with the rehabilitation scheme of the government.
The 12 MW Serlui B hydel project would be completed by this month and trail run expectedly in July.
The dam would submerge about 53 kms of cultivable land and 79 hosues along the Serlui river.
