CESC records 40.9 per cent Quarter growth

New Delhi, Apr 28: CESC Ltd today said it has registered a 40.9 per cent surge in its net profit to Rs 86 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2008 as compared to Rs 61 crore for the same period previous year.

The total income too increased 18.4 per cent to Rs 680 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2008 from Rs 574 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2007, a company statement said. The company has posted 17.6 per cent hike in its net profit after tax to Rs 354 crore for the year ended March 31, 2008 as compared to Rs 301 crore in the same period last year, the statement added.

The total income has increased 12.4 per cent to Rs 2,898 crore for the year ended March 31, 2008 from Rs 2,577 crore for the year ended March 31, 2007.
