BHEL wins Rs 3,368 cr contract in Chhattisgarh
New Delhi, Apr 28 (UNI) Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has bagged orders worth Rs 3,368 crore for installing three coal-based units of 500 MW each in Chhattisgarh.
The orders have been placed on BHEL by Chhattisgarh State Electricity Board, a BHEL spoesman told UNI today.
The orders envisage setting up of one unit of 500 MW at Korba West thermal power project and two units of 500 MW each at the upcoming Marwa thermal power project.
The order for Korba West has been placed on BHEL after the cancellation of an earlier contract for the project on a Chinese company.
Slated for synchronisation during the 11th Plan, these units will add 36 million units every day to the grid on commissioning.
BHEL's scope of work includes design, engineering, manufacture, supply, erection and commissioning of steam turbines, generators, boilers, associated auxiliaries, piping and electricals, besides state-of-the-art controls and instrumentation.
