6 women, 2 children killed in jeep accident at Yavatmal
Nagpur, Apr 28 (UNI) Eight people, including six women and two children, were killed and five others injured after the jeep they were travelling in hit a tree at Yavatmal district in Vidarbha region, the police said.
The accident occurred when the driver lost control over the jeep while allowing another vehicle pass, near Runjha village, around 50 km away from Yavatmal, yesterday.
The victims have been identified as Sushila Ratan Jaiswal (40), Ankita Ratan Jaiswal (12), Ashish Ratan Jaiswal (8), Aruna Mahesh Jaiswal (35), Kiran Sujit Jaiswal (35), Shanta Suresh Jaiswal (40), Urmila Kamalnarayan Jaiswal (37) and Pushpa Jaiswal (40), the police informed.
The injured were admitted to a hospital in Yavatmal, and were later shifted to Sawangi (Meghe) in adjoining Wardha district. The victims were on their way from Yavatmal to Adilabad of Andhra Pradesh (AP) after attending a wedding when met with the accident, the police added.
