Miscreants damage two buses near Thevar statue
Madurai, Apr 27 (UNI) Two buses of the Tamil Nadu State Road Transport Corporation were damaged by miscreants near the Muthuramalingam Thevar statue at Goripalayam in the city today.
Police said the miscreants, after pelting stones at the buses, fled away. However, no one was injured in the incident.
A group of devotees of Thevar were performing 'pooja' at the statue when the incident occurred. A search was on to nab the culprits.
About 200 state-owned buses had been vandalised during the violence in Madurai after the desecration of Thevar statue recently.
