Gandola cable car resume operation in Gulmarg heights
Srinagar, Apr 27 (UNI) The Gandola cable car, which was grounded after lightening damaged electronic control system on April 21, has again started functioning in Gulmarg heights.
However, only first phase of the cable car project upto Kongdori was made functional and work to restore second phase upto Apharwat was in progress, official sources said.
The lightening had also damaged inspection hut, they said adding that there was, however, no loss of life or injury to anyone in the lightening.
Hundreds of tourists are visiting Gulmarg and enjoying the cable car daily. However, due to non-functioning of the Gandola, it had not only disappointed tourists who had come from different parts of the country and abroad besides locals, the authorities had also suffered a loss of Rs 4 lakhs everyday.
