Chhotu Ram plants unit to be shut to install new equipment
Yamunanagar, Apr 27 (UNI) The first unit of 300 MW of Deen Bandhu Chhotu Ram thermal Power Plant here has been shut down from today for about three weeks.
A spokesman said here today that the shut down is essential to install special equipment or instruments to conduct performance guarantee test on main equipments of this unit, which had been running continuously at full load since March 31.
The team of experts for fixing the equipments or instruments and for conductance of performance guarantee tests has already reached the project site.
He also said that the 300 MW unit-II is presently running at about 125 MW since April 16, 2008. The load of this unit will progressively be raised to full load that is 300 MW by mid May as per technical specifications and in view of the other performances, he added.
