Officer-in-Charge injured in encounter in Bihar

Hajipur, Apr 26 (UNI) Officer-in-Charge of Jandaha police station was injured in an encounter with the guerillas of the proscribed CPI(Maoist) at Athnama village in Vaishali district of Bihar today.

Police said acting on a tip off, raid was conducted to nab the maoists in the village, who opened fire on security personnel as they were approaching near the guerillas.

Officer-in -Charge S K Suman was injured in the ensuing encounter, police said adding he had been referred to Patna Medical College and Hospital.

Senior police officers with additional reinforcement had reached on the spot.
