Chaini of RIL to take over as IMC President at its 100th AGM

Mumbai, Apr 26 (UNI) Reliance Industries Limited (corporate affairs) president Murlidhar Narayan Chaini will be installed as president of the city-based Indian Merchants' Chamber (IMC) at its 100th Annual General Meeting here on April 28.

Several top leaders of Indian industry, including State Bank of India Chairman O P Bhatt and HDFC Limited Chairman Deepak Parekh will address a public function to mark the IMC's centenary AGM , an IMC spokesperson said here today.

Mr Chaini and Pijikay Group Chairman Gul Kripalani were elected president and vice president respectively of the IMC for the year 2008-09 on March 4.

Mr Chaini has served the IMC in various capacities, including its outgoing vice president. As the chairman of the Privatisation Committee of Planning Commission, Maharashtra, Mr Chaini's report is under implementation by the State Government.

Mr Kripalani's group is engaged in export of seafood and meat to various countries. He has served the industry as the president of the Western Region and then as the vice president of the Seafood Exporters Association of India. He is also on the Governing body of the University of Nagpur (Veterinary Science&Agriculture).
