Rarity in Lok Sabha: House goes through listed questions
New Delhi, Apr 24 (UNI) In a rare occurrence, the Lok Sabha today went through all the listed questions, thanks mainly to the Opposition NDA that stayed away for almost the full part of the Question Hour.
As there were still about 15 minutes left for the Question Hour to be over, Speaker Somnath Chatterjee returned to the first question listed.
''This is the first time I have to go back,'' he remarked.
Earlier, the House witnessed a peculiar situation when the members in whose names the first 12 questions were listed were found absent.
The Speaker heaved a sigh of relief when he found TDP's K Yerrannaidu, who was to ask the 13th question, present in the House.
After another question, the Speaker again faced a similar situation when some more members were found to be absent.
He then called Mr Harikewal Prasad's name, and seeing him in his seat, expressed his happiness.
When the last two questions were also not put up, he returned to the first question.
By that time Ram Lakhan Singh, in whose name that question was listed, had returned.
