Italian Ambassador keen on FDI in Mizoram
Aizawl, Apr 25 (UNI) Italian Ambassador to India Antonio Armelini has hinted at a possible economic partnership of his country with Mizoram.
The Italian diplomat is on his three-day visit to the state.
In his meeting with Chief Minister Zoramthanga yesterday, Mr Armelini said horticulture was the most preffered sector for the collaboration.
Mr Armeilni, accompanied by his colleagues Paolo Trichilo and Bruno Camplia, also met Governor M M Lakhera.
Mr Lakhera told the Italian diplomat that the state, with huge potential in horticulture, floriculture and forest resources, was ready for any foreign investment.
He also highlighted the food crisis in Mizoram following boom in rodent population caused by gregarious bamboo flowering.
Mr Armelini is scheduled to leave for Delhi on Saturday.
