Fast track court gives life to husband for murdering wife

Jalpaiguri, Apr 25 (UNI) A fast track court in Alipurduar sentenced a man to life imprisonment for murdering his wife in March 2001.

The court, in its judgement passed on April 22, also awarded him three years' rigorous imprisonment for torturing his wife.

According to the prosecution the crime took place in Madarhat area of Jalpaiguri district. The CID, Jalpaiguri district, had taken over the investigation and filed the chargesheet in December 2001.
