CM advocates massive afforestation of govt. waste lands

Hyderabad, Apr 25 (UNI) Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today asked Andhra Pradesh state Council of Science and Technology Special Chief Secretary Gayatri Ramachandran to coordinate a plan for massive afforestation of government waste lands and denuded lands, if necessary, on Public-Private Participation Mode.

Chairing a review meeting on Global Warming and Afforestation, he asked her to come out with a workable and practicable action plan so that it could be implemented, according to a press release.

Ms Amala Akkineni gave a presentation on the global warming and its disastrous effect on the Earth and human beings. The CII gave a presentation on their efforts to contain global warming and promoting greenhouse methodology.

Environment, Forests, Science and Technology Special Chief Secretary Janaki Kodapi and CII representative and others attended the meeting.
