PM sanctions Rs one lakh for victims of Gujarat bus accident

New Delhi, Apr 24 (UNI) Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today sanctioned an ex-gratia of Rs 1 lakh from the Prime Minister's National Relief Fund to the next of kin of each of the deceased in the terrible bus accident that took place in Vadodra district of Gujarat last week.

Dr Singh expressed deep grief on the loss of lives of young children, an official release said here.

The state government had also announced a compensation of Rs one lakh to the families of those killed in the accident which had left 42 people, most of them children, dead. They were killed when their school bus fell into Narmada canal at Bodeli village, about 60 kms from Vadodara.
