Photo electoral rolls to be used in Haryana bypoll
Chandigarh, Apr 24 (UNI) Photo electoral rolls will be used during the May 22 by-election in three assembly constituencies of Haryana. Bypoll would be held in Indri, Gohana and Adampur constituencies where model code of conduct has already become effective. The code will remain in force up to May 27.
Haryana Chief Electoral Officer Sajjan Singh said that in view of the Model Code of Conduct, the announcement of new projects/ programmes/concessions/financial grants in any form of promises thereof or laying of foundation stones by the party in power was prohibited.
No appointment or promotions in government or in public undertaking would be made during this period without prior clearance of the Election Commission of India, he added.
Also, wall writing, pasting of posters/papers or defacement in any other form or erecting/displaying of cutouts, hoardings, banners would not be permitted on any public property/public premises.
