Roots Festival Tour '08 kicks off from May 3
Itanagar, Apr 23 (UNI) Musicians from Israel, the United Kingdom, Cochin and North Eastern states will be touring Manipur, Nagaland, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram and Meghalaya as part of the sixth edition of Roots Festival Tour '08, beginning on May 3.
The team comprising DUB LFO from Israel, Too Late Lucy from England, Raghu Dixit Project from Cochin, Rewben Mashangva from Ukhrul in Manipur, Warklung from Diphu in Assam besides a host of local artists will travel to Manipur, Nagaland, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram and Meghalaya.
The musicians will kick off their programme in Imphal, before proceeding to Dimapur in Nagaland and Diphu before going to Itanagar on May 13 and will continue its performance in Guwahati and Aizwal before a grand finale at Shillong on May 24, according to Keith Wallang, the producer and promoters of this festival.
Roots present only original music. It will encourage the youth of the region by providing a platform for constructive and creative expression, Wallong said, adding that through entertainment the youth will get first hand information of their rich and vibrant culture.
