Pondy Govt to provide interim relief to AFT mill workers
Puducherry, Apr 23 (UNI) The Puducherry administration will provide interim relief to the workers of the Government-owned Anglo-French Textile mills from this month, Chief Minister N Rangasamy told the Territorial Assembly today.
Making a statement in the House, he said skilled labourers would be given Rs 1,000 and unskilled labourers Rs 750 per month.
The Chief Minister said a Committee, under retired Commercial Tax officers Gnanasambandam and Ramadass, had been constituted to go into all details of the mill workers, including their salary and workload. It would submit its report in a couple of months, on the basis of which the grievances of the mill workers would be addressed, he added.
