Left parties organise padyatra against price hike
Ranchi, Apr 23 (UNI) The Left parties, including the CPI, CPI(M), Forward Bloc and RSP, today organised a padyatra here to protest the price rise of essential commodities.
The padyatra which originated from Albert Ekka Chowk moved to Rajbhawan.
A delegation of party leaders met Jharkhand Governor Syed Sibtey Razi and handed over a memorandum demanding universalisation of Public Distribution System.
CPI(M) state secretary J S Majumdar said Mr Razi assured the delegation that the Centre would be apprised of their demands.
Their other demands included immediate ban on future trading and reduction of prices of petrol and diesel.
