Dacoit Mohar Singh and his aide killed in a police encounter in UP

Lucknow, Apr 23(UNI)Dreaded dacoit Mohar Singh and one of his close confidents and relative Surendra Mallah was shot dead in an encounter with police in Etawah district today.

According to police at the state headquarters here, the Special Operation Group(SOG) with the help of the Etawah police trapped the dacoits under Chakannagar area and later shot them dead when they tried to flee.

'' Two DBBL guns and Rs 14,000 cash have been recovered from their possession.'' sources said.

UP police had already announced a reward of Rs 10,000 on the head of Mohar Singh, who was involved in several cases of murder, dacoity and kidnapping in the region.
