IT officials raid offices, premises of Balaji, Himalaya grps

Ahmedabad, Apr 22 (UNI) Income Tax (IT) officials of Gujarat Circle conducted state wide simultaneous raids at offices and residential premises of city's well known Balaji and Himalaya Construction Groups, here today.

The raids are being conducted at nearly two dozens places, including offices and residences of the owners of these two construction groups by 20 IT teams, under the direct guidance of Assistant Director of Income Tax (ADI) Anand Mohan, IT office sources said.

The raids were conducted by the officials, who were called in from Vadodara, Rajkot and Surat offices of IT department, the sources said.

According to initial reports, the raids were being conducted at around 15 offices of these groups, while search operations were being held at seven residential premises of the owners.

In Ahmedabad, raids were conducted at the offices located on C G Roads and Sarkhej-Gandhinagar highway.

So far, findings of the raids were not yet known, the sources added.
