UP Legislative Council poll: Apr 28 declared holiday
Lucknow, Apr 21 (UNI) A special holiday has been declared on April 28 in graduate and teachers constituencies, where polling for the biennial Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council election is scheduled on that day.
The information was today provided by UP Chief Election Officer (CEO) A K Bishnoi.
The holiday would be only for those voters, who would caste their franchise in the graduate and teachers constituency areas, comprising Allahabad-Jhansi, Meerut, Lucknow, Varanasi, Agra, Gorakhpur-Faizabad and Bareilly-Moradabad.
Mr Bishnoi further informed that 134 and 46 candidates are contesting the election from graduate and teachers constituencies respectively.
