Maximum IIM diploma cost Rs 11.50 lakh from next session
New Delhi, Apr 21 (UNI) The maximum cost of a post-graduate diploma in Management in the India Institutes of Management will be Rs 11.50 lakh from the next academic session, the Rajya Sabha was informed today.
The raised fee at IIM, Ahmedabad will be Rs 5.50 lakh in the first year and Rs 6.00 lakh in the second and final year.
Similarly, the fee structure for IIM, Bangalore is Rs 4.00 lakh for the first year and Rs 5.00 lakh for the second year and for Kolkata it is Rs 3.00 lakh and Rs 4.00 lakh.
The two-year programe in IIM Lucknow will cost Rs 5.00 lakhs(Rs 2.50 lakh per year), and in IIM Kozhikode, the cost will come to Rs 6.00 lakh(Rs 3.00 lakh each year).
The Institutes provide need based scholarships to the students.
Easy bank loans are also being provided by the Banks.
The decision to raise the fee from the next academic session 2008-10 was recently taken by the Board of Governors of the six IIMs, Minister of State for Human Resource Development D Purandeswari said in a written reply.
The Standing Committee of IIT Council (SCIC) has also recommended to increase the tuition fee to Rs. 50,000 per year for B Tech and M Tech courses.
