Man posing as ASI nabbed

Jalandhar, Apr 21 (UNI) Police has arrested an imposter posing as Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) of police from village Kotli Dhan under Sadar Police Station in the district.

Police today said that the imposter, Kuldeep Singh of village Dhilwa was arrested last night when he had set up a check-post near village Kotli Dhan for checking vehicles. While checking th registeration papers of passing vehicles he was demanding money from the vehicle owners whose papers were not in order.

A case under sections 419, 420 and 171 of the IPC was registered against the alleged accused and further investigations were on, police said.
