France honours Villoo with National order of merit

Bangalore, Apr 21 (UNI) The French government has honoured Avesthagen Ltd founder and CMD, Viloo Morawala-Patell with the National Order of Merit.

The award would be presented to her by the Ambassador of France to India, Jerome Bonnafont at a felicitation ceremony to be held here on April 23, according to a press release.

She had been honoured for her contribution in the field of biotechnology and as a tribute to her cooperation with French scientists.

Avastagen has had partnerships with major French industrial firms.

Reacting to the honour, Dr Patell said, ''This is indeed a moment of great pride. This is not just an award for me, but recognition of the achievements of India in Science and Innovation. It's an award for the entire industry.'' UNI RS VV ADB PK RK2021
