Cave-in kills 3 labourers
Mainpuri, Apr 21 (UNI) At least three labourers were buried alive, while nine others, two of them critically, sustained injuries after a mud mound collapsed during a digging work here today.
According to police, as many as 150 labourers were working on the Power House road, where digging of a sewer pipleline was underway, wherein, a sudden cave-in trapped 12 workers, killing 3 of them on the spot. The deceased, Saleem, Naubahar and Manoj were said to be residents of Aligarh and Rajasthan.
The two severely injured labourers had been referred to Agra, while three others had been admitted to the district hospital.
Meanwhile, District Magistrate Dinesh Chandra Shukla rushed to the spot and ordered a magisterial probe into the case.
