Suspected CPI (Maoist) ultra gunned down in Bokaro
Bokaro, Apr 20 (UNI) Two days ahead of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's visit to the Steel City, police today shot ead a suspected CPI (Maoist) ultra in an encounter at the Naxal-dominated Nawadih police station area here.
Superintendent of Police Priya Dubey said in an exchange of fire with an armed squad of the extremists in the Nawadih forest area, an ultra Sewa Ram Manjhi was injured.
''The militant later succumbed to his injuries in a hospital,'' Ms Dubey said, adding that investigations were on in the matter.
The Prime Minister is schedluled to arrive here on April 22 to lay the foundation stone for modernisation and expansion of the Bokaro Steel Plant.
