Rs 5 lakh cash seized from a BJP candidate

Mysore, Apr 20(UNI) Deputy Commissioner Mr P Manivannan, who is also the District Election Officer P Manivannan today said that he has sent a report to the Karnataka State Chief Election Officer about seizure of vehicle and Rs 5 lakh cash allegedly belonging to BJP candidate and former legislator A Ramadas contesting from Krishnaraja constituency in the City.

Speaking to newsmen here, Mr Manivannan said the notices has already been issued in this regard to Mr Ramadas asking for explanation and a detail report has been sent to CEO for their information and further investigation has already began in this case.

He said that one more case was filed against Mr Ramadas for taking a huge procession while filing nomination yesterday and asked a report in this regard from the Police Commissioner.

Stating that according to election Code only 120 people have been allowed to take part in the procession while filing nominations and same has been violated by the Mr Ramadas.

Meanwhile, Nanjangud Sectoral Magistrate Basavaraj seized 63 boxes of liquor worth Rs One lakh from a goods auto driver at Nanjangud Suttur road for illegally transporting.

Mr Manivannan said that all the 14 Central Poll observers will be arriving in the city tomorrow to supervise the entire election process.
